Andrew
McKenzie graduated from the Institute of Sound and Vibration
Research, University of Southampton in 1981 with a degree in
Engineering Acoustics and Vibration. After 9 months in Sydney
Australia with Wilkinson Murray Consulting and
Eden Dynamics, he returned to the UK to take up a post as a
research assistant at the ISVR. His research included
ways to optimise hearing aid design for people with noise-induced
hearing loss, leading to a PhD awarded in 1988. After 12 months
as a freelance consultant, he returned to the Institute and
spent two years as a research fellow, specialising in subjective
evaluation of audio and acoustics, before forming Hayes McKenzie
with Malcolm Hayes in 1991.

In
addition to the two directors, we currently have 6 further full-time
consultants. Following an initial vacation job whilst at the
Institute of Sound and Vibration Research at Southampton University,

us in July 2007 from the noise department of wind turbine manufacturer
Enercon in Germany followed by Joel Braham, also from
the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research at Southampton
University who joined us in September 2008. Our latest recruit
at the Salisbury Office is Seth Roberts who joined us
from acoustic consultants the English Cogger Partnership in
Winchester. Tom Levet joined the Machynlleth Office in
2007 from the University of Salford where he obtained his (first
