Windfarm noise is our speciality! It could be yours, too!
- Acoustic Consultant Wanted

Hayes McKenzie are based in offices near Salisbury, Wiltshire and near Machynlleth, mid-Wales. We have been the leading UK acoustics consultancy for windfarm noise planning assessments since the first large-scale turbines were erected in Britain in 1991. Working with developers, local authorities, manufacturers and the public to ensure the best possible result for all involved, we predict, monitor and give impartial professional advice on all aspects of noise from windfarms.
Our success has been prodigious and we are currently looking for additional consultants who are keen to work in this dynamic and rewarding field, to join us either at our office near Salisbury or in mid-Wales.

You will be responsible for running your own projects: liasing with clients and members of the public; managing equipment installations and logistics; data analysis; noise modelling; report writing and advising clients on the options available to them.

Our work necessarily involves a lot of travel to windswept locations, mainly within the UK and Eire, for which you will receive a generous car allowance and accumulate plenty of air miles. There may also be opportunities for work overseas in continental Europe, the USA, Australia and New Zealand.
You will have a first degree or post-graduate qualification in an acoustics-related subject, preferably with some experience in environmental noise assessment. You will be self-motivated, able to learn quickly and to work independently to deadlines. You will also be able to write fluent and intelligible reports, placing a high emphasis on accuracy and consistency.

In return, we offer in-house training; a highly competitive salary with annual bonus; a friendly and flexible, non-corporate, rural work environment; continuing professional development and an enormous sense of personal and professional satisfaction.
If you are ready to meet this challenge, please e-mail your CV with a covering letter to Andy McKenzie in our Salisbury office or Malcolm Hayes in our mid-Wales office:
